Bitter Binkies

Pictures: Family Photos

We started cracking down on the binky habit today. Joss bit two holes in her red binky last night. "It's dirty, Mommy. Wash my binky," she said. After washing it three times, she realized the problem wasn't going to disappear down the drain and threw it in the garbage. I soaked her green binky in vinegar for a few minutes, but it didn't phase her and she still sucked on it all day. The nursery workers cut a small hole in the tip for me, however, and then I enlarged it right before Joss went to bed tonight. I guess I'll keep snipping away until there's nothing left.

Chloe will be six months old tomorrow, so I gave her some rice cereal tonight. She did moderately well, meaning she got at least a third down her gullet. The rest was on the floor, on her bib, on the table cloth, and and in her hair. We'll see if she'll wake up fewer times tonight for feedings. Her greatest feat this week was rolling completely over while I was trying to change her diaper. She hasn't been able to replicate the roll, but it probably won't be long before she's rolling around the house.

Landon has kept busy scheming about all of the new bird studies he wants to do and is working on the problem of how to clone himself in order to complete them all. I'm still busy being a mom, a relief society president, and a nurse. The last two roles don't take up much time, so I have a lot of time to work on the binky problem. Next we'll tackle potty training. :)
