Pictures: Chloe's Birthday; Chloe at La Jolla; Chloe and Tristan; Disneyland Trip with Meg and Nona
Chloe turned 2 last month. The Workmans gave her a pair of jellies that light up when she walks, and she's decided that those shoes go with all of her outfits. Nona had made her a birthday dessert in California the week before her birthday, but she was too tired to eat any. Also, when she went to blow out the candles, her face got too close to the flame and she was burned. After considerable wailing we just put her to bed. When we presented her with her birthday brownies on her real birthday days later and she saw two candles burning within 2 feet of her face, she yelped and ducked.
Our trip to Disneyland was loads of fun. Chloe and Joss were wide-eyed, taking everything in. Joss has declared that "It's a Small World" and "the pirates ride" were her favorite. I had a hard time prying her out of her seat after the Pirates of the Caribbean ride ended. What made the trip especially memorable is when Jocelynne peed on the dock just before boarding the Storytime Boat Ride. Nobody had wanted to get out of line to take her to the restroom, and we ignored the danger signs (dancing in place, asking if she could pee in the bushes, etc.). So guess who got to hold Little Soggy Drawers on the boat? :)
Jocelynne is having fun role playing. Lately she's taken to playing Sleeping Beauty, and Chloe has to play Prince Charming and awaken her with a kiss. Joss also put a leash (balloon string) around her ankle this morning while Chloe "walked" her. She declared that she was Max (one of Papa Rich's dogs) and Chloe was Papa Rich.
Chloe is still an active child. She climbs the unclimbable and breaks the unbreakable. In the last week, she has drawn (in ink) all over the leather of my piano bench, eaten paint, painted with my mascara, stepped on Tristan, and many other great acts.
Tristan is about ready for solids, I think. He eyes our food at the dinner table and tries to grab it. He giggles at the least provocation and is fairly tolerant of his sisters' rambunctious play. What a good baby! Of course, he's not perfect. He still gets me up every 3 hours or so at night and gives me a hard time if he's not sleeping next to me in bed. I'll try harder to kick him out when Landon starts sleeping at night again.
