A Household of Boys

Mothers Day 2019

Jocelynne poses after returning from a backpacking trip with the young women, where she stayed up until 5:00AM talking with her BFF, Lia, in their tent!

Landon went with the young women to help out and spend time with his girls.  He ended up carrying most of Chloe's stuff, and an older young woman in the ward ended up carrying the rest of it.  #TinyBeehive

We're all bundled up at Tristan's soccer game at the end of April.  His team got second place in their division!  He and Logan are both signed up for the fall season, so I'm officially a soccer mom now.

Finn hamming it up for the camera (after eating a cookie).

We went on a bus tour of the city where we got to go through a huge carwash built for the buses.  Dane talked about how fun his bus ride was for weeks.  He'd be jealous to know that, before he was born, our family used buses almost every day in Costa Rica.

Dane sporting his BYU bowtie that Marlise made.

Logan waits his turn to act in his class play, "Good Manners: A Medieval Quest for Polite Behavior."

Finn, chilling in his jammies with his 'dog and the remote.  Just another Saturday morning.

The boys with Dad at Sam's Club, our go-to restaurant where the cashiers know our usual order.

The girls left for California on Tuesday, which has left our home feeling a bit empty.  Our neighbor, an advisor in the young women's program, happened to be on the same flight to LAX and was able to sit by Joss and Chloe on the plane.  This small gift was just a reminder to me that God knows the details of our lives and cares about us.

They went to Universal Studios (I've never been!!) with Nonna, David, and the Ververas and got Harry Potter shirts.  They've also been to the movies, the pool, and yummy places to eat.  Tomorrow they're off to the beach and then to Aunt Becky's house!  And don't worry about them getting homesick or missing us at all.  They made it clear during a FaceTime last night that they're thriving away from our "small house filled with loud brothers."  Well, we asked for it.  Next time we won't ask them how much their poor hearts are yearning for home and the affection of their dearest mother and father.
