Nona came to visit last week. Jocelynne enjoyed her time with "Nonose", who spoiled her with daily baths and new outfits. We went to the Strawberry Days Festival and Joss went on her first carnival ride. She didn't seem to understand that it was supposed to be fun. She just rode around on the train with a puzzled expression on her face.
Our first attempt at potty-training tonight was pretty messy. Joss started to squirm and whine, saying, "Poopoo." On a whim, I asked if she wanted to go on the potty, and she said, "Uh-huh." So we took her pants and diaper off and I sat her on the toilet for about 40 seconds. When nothing happened, I decided I'd flip over the plantains I was frying and then get back to her. I didn't want them to burn. As you can guess, I heard crying a few seconds later and saw logs on the carpet and the kitchen tile. Rookie mistake. I'll know better next time.
