Landon finished his written comprehensive examinations today! Although we don't have the results back yet, I'm confident he passed. After he passes his oral comps mid-June, he'll be cleared to start his PhD project in Costa Rica.
Jocelynne "graduated" from kindergarten last week. We went to a ceremony at her school and watched her sing some songs with her class and get her diploma. She called her hat a "congraduation" cap. I had a hard time convincing her to come home with me. She wanted to stay the full day and take the bus home until she realized Mr. Motte would just be cleaning the classroom the rest of the day. "I'm not a good cleaner, Mom," she said. "Cleaning is hard work." Last night before we left for a graduation BBQ, she said, "Mom, there are no Barbies at barbecues, are there?"
I taught my last piano lessons on Monday. This Saturday my 9 students will exhibit their newfound talent in a recital at the church. I'm pretty nervous as there will be ample opportunity for me to look bad. I should have bribed them to practice.
