Logan's Here!

Pictures: Meeting Logan; Grandma Holding Logan; Logan Close-Up; Tristan Washing the Car; Girls Holding their new Brother

Finally! After 10 days past my due date with Logan, I let the doctor coax him out with pitocin. Although I came into the hospital dilated to 5 cm, I still wasn't contracting. After the pitocin drip started, however, the contractions got intense and I begged for mercy. By the time the epidural was inserted I was at 9.5 centimeters and they were urging me to push. The epidural felt so good I decided I wanted a little rest first, much to the dismay of the nurses. I let the contractions do most of the work of getting Logan nearer to freedom while I napped, and then called the team in for the catch. If I had known that I was going to give birth to Goliath, I probably wouldn't have had the anesthetist turn off the epidural. Although I liked being able to move around and avoid a catheter, I didn't enjoy the sensation of a 9 pound 7 ounce baby making his exit. When Logan's weight was announced, my jaw dropped. Landon and I were incredulous at this un-Jones-like statistic. We love his chubby cheeks! No chicken legs on this boy! We're thrilled with our new baby Logan and are happy he's joined the family.

You look amazing in that pic. And even my jaw dropped at his size. That's even bigger than Paul was. We'll see if he can keep the beef on. :)
