Money and Mardi Gras

Although I spend a lot of time with a baby on my hip, Dane also enjoys being held by his dad and siblings. He will army crawl around the floor now too, looking for small choking hazards to put in his mouth like marbles, paper, and desiccated food from under the table.

Logan's fascination with money continues, and I'm constantly being harassed into making up new chores for him to do for pocket change. He'll take the money out of his bank periodically through the day just to look at it, count it, and feel the cold metal in his little hands. This is a photo I shot of him sleeping with his days' earnings.

Chloe made a bed for Dane on the floor. Tristan can't keep away from his little brother, nurturing him with a constant diet of hugs and kisses.

Daddy and Dane

Chloe plays with Logan an age-old game my sisters and I once played: "Open your mouth and close your eyes, and I'll give you a big surprise!" Chloe is sweet and gave Logan a candy. I remember one of my sisters (you know who you are!) once feeding me a dried booger.

Dane's figured out how to get into crawling position, but is still unable to coordinate his arm and leg movements into a form of locomotion. Instead he uses a combination of rolling and slithering around on his belly to get where he wants to go.

Logan keeps pestering me to swap credit cards with him. I assume he's figured out that his Chuck E Cheese's credit card doesn't have the same purchasing power that my Chase Bank card has.

Landon taught the kids a board game he enjoys.

The kids got plenty of Mardi Gras beads at the parade this year, along with some toys, thanks to their dad. I refused to go and stayed home with Dane. But Landon braved the cold so the kids wouldn't miss out on the fun. He arranged for his guy friends to meet him there to sweeten the deal.
