Road Trip

Jocelynne and I just got back from a trip to Idaho with Nona and Aunt Meagan. While visiting with Clay and Marci, we watched King Kong and ate lots of good Mexican food (Pasole and tri-tip tacos). I noticed that she's at the beginning stages of developing "stranger danger." If Jocelynne is not in a perfectly content mood, she'll fuss until whoever is holding her gives her back to Mommy. I was hoping that she'd skip this stage and just be happy with everybody.

She did all right for the most part in the car. We needed to stop every couple of hours for her to stretch outside of her carseat and eat. At one point she was particularly fed up with being strapped in and was letting everyone know about it. Nona gave her a candy stick that was safely bound up in a wrapper so she could chew on it. She seemed content with that for a long time. Suspiciously content. Sure enough, upon examination of the candy stick, Jocelynne had worked her way through the wrapper and was enjoying the forbidden treat, liquifying it slowly with her abundant saliva and sucking it up.

Landon is going on a birding field trip with his ornathology class tomorrow. He'll be gone a couple of days. He's still pondering summer job options.
