First Tooth!

Pictures: Getting lead poisoning; the neighbor girls bathing Jocelynne; Jocelynne after her first time to a buffet restaurant.

I was reaching inside Jocelynne's mouth 2 days ago (I do this frequently to find objects like dehydrated peas off of the floor, bolts, bottle caps, etc.) and felt something sharp as she brought her gums together on my finger. Upon further inspection, I saw a small slit in her bottom gums where a tiny tooth is trying to emerge. She has been sweet about teething and hasn't been cranky or snot-nosed. I'm hoping it stays that way!

She is also practicing her walking and saying "Mama" more frequently now. She has now taken 8 steps in a row before plopping down on her rump. She has a lot of admirers at church. Jamie Garlick (a friend in the ward - we were in Jerusalem together 8 years ago) takes her for me in relief society so I can sit up front with the presidency. She tells me that people stop her and say, "Jocelynne's not yours!" She thinks it's incredible that everybody knows that.

Landon turned in his first draft of his thesis (excluding the experiment part, which he can't do until next spring) last week. He's also netting birds twice a week with a crew. They put a net up between two poles, catch birds, pull out 2 feathers from each for analysis, band them, then let them go (unless the bird happens to be a starling, in which case it will have a less fortunate fate as Landon needs them to practice taxidermy on).
