As Logan has learned how to escape his crib, he can no longer sleep in the kids room. We heard too many complaints, and a few nights I heard personal prayers include something akin to the following: "And please help Logan to not bite or pinch or hit or step on me." While training him to fall asleep in our bed, I stayed with him until he fell asleep. Then I'd careful try to leave the bed and sneak out of the room. With some sixth sense, he'd always sense this and wake up crying. After three attempts at leaving Logan, he must have developed abandonment issues because he then started to fall asleep in positions that pinned me down. Baby won that round. And I got some extra rest. :)

Orchids hanging from Genia's (pronounced "Hennia) porch. We went to visit her house in Silencio, where she lives with her sister and parents. We all had fun playing soccer, eating lunch, going hiking, and swimming in the river.

For 2-3 days in a row Logan's ears swelled up and turned red. Never figured out what caused the Dopey ears, but they didn't seem to bother him and it was sure cute. Glad things are back to normal, though.

Genia's neighborhood. Pretty crowded.

Romping at Genia's

The kids had a pajama party with games, dancing, crafts, and a movie. A good time was had by all. . .of the kids.

More pajama party.
My sister Sari is coming tomorrow night! She has bravely agreed to come and help us pack up, clean, and move back to the states. The kids are extra enthusiastic, knowing that she's bringing them bribery gifts so that they'll hold still for their photo sessions. It feels like it's about time to leave. For one thing, my freezer is filling up with dead birds, including a large owl, some song birds, hummingbirds, and even gorier things. Vials of toucan blood are now threatening to take over my fridge as well. Anybody want to come over for dinner?

I'll come, but only if promised some delicacies like bird innards. I draw the line at eyeballs though. Happy packing (if that's possible)!
When are you going to write your next entry? I'm dying to know if you made it back alright.
